As the WGA and SAG strikes press on, we are about to enter an era that happened when the last big strikes took place, one where reality TV dominates. For places like Netflix, that will mean relying on its reality megahits, the biggest of which at this point is easily Love is Blind.

Now, Netflix is making a Love is Blind video game. Yes, you heard that correctly.

Ahead of the game’s season 5 debut on September 22, Netflix will be releasing Netflix Stories: Love is Blind, a game from Netflix-owned Boss Fight Entertainment. Netflix has quietly been building out a video game arm for a while now, and actually has some surprisingly great games hidden away on the service. But now, they’re going to start making more based on their own IP. And no, this does not mean Extraction as a AAA shooter, it means…Love is Blind.

It’s essentially a dating sim, as you might expect. It will mirror the show, where you will sit in a pod and chat with someone you cannot see until you choose to marry them based on sparkling conversation alone. Then, you see them for the first time in a big reveal ceremony, and then the show transitions into something entirely different, where you essentially go on a pre-marriage honeymoon, then meet their family, live together and get married (or more commonly, break up) a month later. All the pieces put in place for maximum drama.

Will this be…fun as a video game? I probably can’t answer that as both someone who doesn’t play dating sims and is not a Love is Blind superfan (I only watched seasons 1-3 because of my wife, I swear!).

In the game, you can design your own character from scratch, then either date a bunch of people or pick one in particular. I’m not entirely sure what specifically the transition is after the pods, but judging by the guy in the cover art with abs in a pool, the vacation part is happening, and the couple at the altar says the wedding part is happening. So all of it, it seems, not just the pods.

I may have to actually play this next month out of morbid curiosity, like I did Kim Kardashian Hollywood when that game made a zillion dollars (it was pretty good!). As ever, I think Netflix needs to do a better job of telling people it has a gaming section at all that most will not know even exists.
