Haley told the Associated Press she would continue to challenge former President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination through Super Tuesday on March 5, when 16 states and territories will hold their primaries—even if she loses this weekend’s South Carolina primary.
“This isn’t Russia,” Haley told the outlet, adding “we don’t want someone to go in and just get 99% of the vote.”
Downplaying calls for her to bow out of the race so the GOP and its mega donors can coalesce behind Trump and begin focusing on the general election, Haley asked “what is the rush?”
The commitment comes as Haley is set to deliver a speech in South Carolina later Tuesday about the state of the presidential race.
