California Gov. Gavin Newsom mocked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flagging poll numbers in the GOP Presidential primaries in a Fox News debate on Thursday where the two disagreed on matters including crime, abortion, gun laws, immigration and the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The unusual verbal sparring match between two governors from different states was billed as the “The Great Red vs. Blue State Debate” moderated by Fox News host Sean Hannity.
Newsom attacked DeSantis for “trying to out-Trump Trump” on several issues like immigration and then mockingly asked, “How's that going for you, Ron?”
Newsom pointed out that DeSantis was trailing Trump by 41 points in his “own home state” and dismissed the Florida Gov.’s suggestion that he was also running for President, saying “neither of us will be the nominee for our party in 2024.”
