Listeners of Joe Rogan’s “The Joe Rogan Experience”—which just featured a three-hour interview with former President Donald Trump—are more likely to support Trump than Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election, according to a new survey from Edison Research, though a fair number of listeners appear undecided as Rogan says he still hopes to interview the vice president.

Edison surveyed 418 weekly listeners of Rogan’s show from July 23 through September, and 21% said they would “definitely” vote for Harris compared to 40% who said they would “definitely” vote for Trump.

About 35% of listeners were more noncommittal: 5% said they would “probably” support Harris, while 14% said they would “probably” support Trump and 16% said they were undecided.

The data was released days after Trump appeared on Rogan’s podcast, producing a three-hour episode that has been viewed more than 40 million times since it was posted on YouTube on Oct. 25.

80%. That’s how many of Rogan’s listeners are male—a demographic more likely to support Trump than Harris, according to Edison. Polling suggests a historic gender gap this election: A USA Today/Suffolk University poll conducted earlier this month found women supported Harris by a margin of 53% to 36%, and men supported Trump 53% to 37%. USA Today reported that if those margins held through Election Day, it would be the biggest gender gap disparity among voters since 1980.

If Harris appears on Rogan’s show. He said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday the Harris campaign did not decline doing the show, but offered a date and location Rogan wasn’t able to do. “My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being,” Rogan said. “I really hope we can make it happen.”

“The Joe Rogan Experience” launched in 2009 and is No. 1 on Spotify’s podcast list, has more than 18 million subscribers on YouTube and was part of a $250 million deal between Rogan and Spotify earlier this year. Rogan—who is also a comedian and UFC commentator—hosts a wide variety of high-profile guests on his weekly show and episodes usually run between two and three hours. He invited Trump to be a guest on the show despite previously calling him a “threat to democracy” and saying he had declined to have the former president as a guest in 2022. Both Trump and Harris have been making the podcast and radio rounds in an effort to reach younger voters, with Trump appearing on other shows, including Barstool Sports’ “Bussin with the Boys” and Lex Fridman’s podcast, and Harris appearing on “Call Her Daddy” and “All the Smoke.” A majority of Rogan’s listeners, 51%, are in the 18-34 age range, according to Edison, and a plurality identify as independent or another affiliation other than the two major parties, while 32% say they’re Republicans and 27% Democrats.

Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, is reportedly sitting down with Rogan on Wednesday for an interview.
