Miley Cyrus didn’t just produce the biggest single of her career in 2023, she also timed its release perfectly. The singer’s “Flowers” has been named the most-streamed song of 2023 on Spotify, and it comes with a massive streaming number that backs up that winning position.

The track came out on top of the streaming site’s annual ranking of the most-streamed songs with at least 1.6 billion plays, according to the company itself. The smash had plenty of time to earn that many clicks, as it dropped in mid-January, shortly after Spotify began tracking data for its 2023 Wrapped program, which was unveiled today (November 29).

“Flowers” was a comeback hit of sorts for Cyrus. She hadn’t stepped away or retired, but her last several projects had failed to produce a major global hit single. 2023 changed all of that, as millions of fans around the world loved the cut, and it’s clear that many kept it in rotation throughout the year.

SZA comes in second place with her hit single “Kill Bill,” which took the R&B powerhouse to new heights on charts all around the world. Somewhat surprisingly, Harry Styles ranks in third place with his song “As It Was.” The tune was one of the most popular in the world at the end of 2022—it was released in April of last year—and its popularity continued throughout 2023 as well.

BTS singer Jung Kook appears in fourth with his breakout solo smash, “Seven.” The tune saw him officially embark on a career of his own, apart from the boy band that made him a star, and rapper Latto was on board for the ride.

Closing out the top five most-streamed songs is "Ella Baila Sola" by Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma. The two Latin musicians made a name for themselves in 2023, and the massive success of this Spanish cut was largely to thank for their newfound popularity.

Only one artist appears on the list of the top 10 most-streamed songs twice, and it’s Taylor Swift. Her 2019 song “Cruel Summer” was spun off as a proper single this year, and it ranks at No. 6. At the bottom of the ranking comes “Anti-Hero,” which was actually released with months to go in 2022 when it first dropped. That song, and the album it’s featured on, Midnights, both stayed relevant and incredibly popular throughout 2023.

Here is the list of the 10 most-streamed songs globally on Spotify in 2023.
