Meghan Markle struck a new podcast partnership Tuesday with Lemonada Media after Spotify’s multi-million-dollar deal with Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, ended last year.
Harry and Meghan’s deal with Spotify ended in June.
Under the new partnership, Markle’s podcast “Archetypes” will be distributed by Lemonada on all audio platforms, the company said.
Markle will also host a new podcast for the small distributor that has yet to be named, Lemonada said.
In a statement obtained by Variety, Markle said she was happy to be supporting a female-founded company and to “continue [her] love of podcasting.”
It’s unclear when Markle’s new podcast will launch, or how much Meghan will earn. Prince Harry’s involvement with the partnership is also unclear.
About $20 million. That ‘s how much the deal between Archewell Audio—the couple’s audio production company—and Spotify was worth, according to the Wall Street Journal. The couple did not meet the “productivity benchmarks” required to get the full payout, the Journal reported.
