


Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., will force lawmakers to vote next week on whether to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., she said Wednesday—a day after Democrats vowed to save Johnson from an ouster.

Greene said she was “absolutely going to be calling” for a vote on her motion to vacate Johnson from the speakership next week, after refusing, for weeks, to make clear whether she would trigger a vote on the resolution.
Greene made the promise in response to a statement from Democratic leaders on Tuesday vowing to vote against Johnson’s removal, making it all but certain he would survive the motion to vacate.
Calling Johnson’s Republican and Democratic allies the “Make Ukraine Great Again” uniparty, Greene blasted lawmakers who voted to deliver additional funding to Ukraine and called Johnson “a man that none of us recognize” since he became speaker.
