Madonna, 64, was discharged from the hospital and is “in the clear,” as of Thursday morning, CNN and BBC reported.
The singer’s long-time manager Guy Oseary posted on Instagram Wednesday saying Madonna was taken to the intensive care unit on June 24 after developing a “serious” bacterial infection.
Oseary said in the post he expected Madonna would make a full recovery, but would need to pause all her commitments, including her upcoming Celebration tour.
We estimate Madonna’s net worth at $580 million as of June 1, after grossing $1.2 billion on the road over her career. She is 45th on Forbes’ 2023 list of richest self-made women in the U.S.
Madonna’s tour was scheduled to start July 15 and hit more than 40 cities across the United States, Europe and the U.K. before its end in early 2024. The tour will be Madonna’s first since 2020 and comes after the release of her 14th studio album, Madame X. There’s been no information about how the hospitalization will impact the tour beyond its postponement, but Oseary said in his Instagram post that Madonna’s team “will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”
