Tight end Tyler Higbee has yet to score for the Los Angeles Rams this year.
On the field, anyway.
Higbee found another way to cash in leading to Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
L.A. and Higbee agreed to a three-year, $27 million extension, which could be worth up to $30.5 million, on Friday. The deal comes with a $17 million guarantee.
Higbee will earn $6.2 million in base salary and a $500,000 bonus in 2023. His cap hit is $9.125 million.
The NFL Network was the first to report the deal.
While Higbee hasn’t found the end zone through the Rams’ first three games, he’s collected at least three touchdowns in three of his past four seasons.
Higbee, a former fourth-round pick from Western Kentucky, had his best showing in 2022 when he established career-highs in receptions (72) and targets (108).
To date, Higbee 11 catches for 132 yards.
