Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced Monday he will withdraw a reduced resentencing request for Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were convicted of murdering their parents in 1989, urging the two men to “come clean” if they want the DA’s office to reconsider its position against them.

A resentencing request had been made by former District Attorney George Gascón, who was in favor of lessening the Menendez brothers’ life sentences to 50 years to life.
Gascón’s request, if granted, would have made the brothers eligible for parole.
