The billionaire founder of the Oakley sunglasses brand has listed his fortress-like mansion for $65 million in a famous Beverly Hills neighborhood that was once home to Elvis Presley, Howard Hughes and President Richard Nixon.

James Jannard, worth an estimated $1.3 billion, has put his 18,300-square-foot home up for sale for the second time, this time $3 million cheaper.

The five-bedroom, nine-bath house is an industrial-style fortress built in 2014 with concrete walls, metal ceilings and brushed steel detailing.

Retractable glass walls in the living room open to an infinity-edge pool overlooking the Los Angeles skyline, and the house also has two kitchens, a home theater and a spa-inspired primary bath.

Jannard, whose Oakley brand first made motorcycle grips, also installed a motorcycle display space off the living room of the home beneath a skylight entry.

Jannard's home is located in the Trousdale Estates community in northern Beverly Hills. It was listed for $68 million in June 2024 before that listing was removed in March. The land was once the 411-acre Doheny Ranch, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and owned by the family of oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny. The original grounds included the Greystone Mansion, now a U.S. historical site. Since the land was purchased and subdivided by developer Paul Trousdale in 1955, it has been home to celebrities including fashion designer Vera Wang, comedian David Spade and musicians Elton John, Lionel Richie, and Justin Bieber.

Jannard, 76, was ranked as the 2,707th-richest person in the world Thursday. He founded the Oakley brand out of his car in 1975. He took it public in 1995 and sold it to Luxottica in 2007 for $2.1 billion in cash. He also sold a high-resolution camera company called Red Digital to Nikon in 2024.
