Ansu Fati's agent Jorge Mendes has guaranteed FC Barcelona that an offer of €70 million ($77 million) will come in for his client this summer according to SPORT.

Fati was once talked up as the future of the club after breaking through to the first team as a 16-year-old in 2019 and smashing a number of youngest goalscorer records.

Such was the belief in the Guinea-born sensation at the beginning of the decade that he was even handed Lionel Messi's iconic '10' shirt when signing a new contract with a €1 billion ($1.099 billion) release clause when the Argentine left for Paris Saint Germain in 2021.

Two years on, however, it appears that Messi will return to the club if Barca can make the numbers work and Fati could be on his way out after his progress has been hampered by injuries.

Barca's viability plan that has presented to La Liga shows that they plan on making two big players sales according to Gerard Laporta.

If an offer comes in for him, one of the players that might be offloaded is Fati, despite public statements from head coach Xavi Hernandez and president Joan Laporta that he is an important member of the squad.

With positional rivals Raphinha and Ferran Torres also on the chopping block, Fati's potential sale is most attractive of all. This is because he was reared in the La Masia academy, so any amount of money forthcoming for his transfer presents pure profit.

To this end, SPORT reports on Monday that Jorge Mendes has guaranteed the Blaugrana an offer of €70 million ($77 million) will come in for one of his biggest clients, which Barca might find difficult to turn down.

The party that will allegedly come forward with the proposal unsurprisingly hails from the Premier PINC League, which is where there is also a market for the likes of Raphinha and Ferran Torres too.

In recent weeks, Mundo Deportivo has reported that Newcastle United are interested in Raphinha while Arsenal want to negotiate a purchase of Torres according to El Nacional.

In an ideal world, Barca might offload the whole trio and start from scratch when it comes to manning the wings given that Ousmane Dembele is the only pure wideman in Xavi's four-man midfield system.
