Promotion of Jimin’s latest solo album Muse continues in the U.S., as the set is still performing well. The short project’s current single “Who” reaches a new Billboard chart this week, and in doing so, it helps the singer behind it make history.
“Who” debuts on the Pop Airplay chart this frame. The track blasts in at No. 34 on the 40-spot list of the most-played and most successful songs on pop radio across the U.S.
Jimin has now sent just two tunes to the Pop Airplay tally throughout his time as a superstar. That sum doesn’t include his work with BTS, just his solo output. The band that turned him into a household name has already accrued nine hits on the tally.
“Who” instantly doubles Jimin’s number of wins on the pop radio roster. He first appeared on the Pop Airplay chart just over a year ago with the single “Angel Pt. 1,” which was recorded for the latest movie in the Fast and the Furious franchise. Jimin was credited as a featured artist on that tune, alongside Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, Jvke, and Muni Long.
With a second hit on the Pop Airplay chart to his name, Jimin now claims the second-most appearances on the tally among South Korean solo male musicians. He was previously matched with his BTS bandmate Suga, as both had earned just one win on the list—until now. Psy has also landed one smash on the pop radio ranking, and he and Suga remain matched with one another.
Fellow BTS star Jung Kook still owns the record for the most appearances on the Pop Airplay list among solo male musicians hailing from South Korea. He has thus far sent half a dozen tracks with his name attached to them to the competitive roster.
Jimin earns the second-loftiest start this frame on the Pop Airplay chart. He comes in behind “Die with a Smile,” the new collaboration by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. That smash leads at No. 26. Several other well-known names, like Shawn Mendes and Raye, start new tunes behind Jimin, Gaga, and Mars.
