“Inside Out 2” passed the milestone after bringing in another $9.1 million internationally this weekend to bring its international total to about $1.002 billion, Deadline reported.

The film has also grossed $646.3 million in U.S. theaters, according to BoxOfficeMojo.

Going into this weekend, the top five international markets for “Inside Out 2” were Mexico ($102 million), Brazil ($79.8 million), U.K. ($70.8 million), South Korea ($63 million) and France ($61.3 million), according to BoxOfficeMojo.

The other 11 movies to gross $1 billion outside the U.S.—and their international lifetime grosses—according to BoxOfficeMojo, are:

Of the 11 other films that have passed $1 billion at the international box office alone, all—including Disney’s 2019 “The Lion King”—are live action. The studio ruled “The Lion King” was a live-action movie rather than computer-generated, which makes “Inside Out 2” the only animated film to be on the list.

At the domestic box office, “Wolverine & Deadpool” returned to the no. 1 spot with $18.3 million in U.S. sales this weekend, after it was dethroned by “Alien: Romulus,” which took the second spot this weekend with $16.2 million.

“Inside Out 2” has been a summer hit for Disney and helped revive the box office in recent months. The sequel to the 2015 hit follows the same main character, Riley, as she goes through puberty and deals with new emotions like anxiety and embarrassment. In July, the film, which is also streaming now in addition to being in theaters, became Pixar’s highest-grossing movie and the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, passing “Frozen II” ($1.45 billion), “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” ($1.36 billion) and “Frozen” ($1.29 billion).
