With a new year comes a new opportunity for several players to reach significant benchmarks in their careers.

Some accolades go to show where their early success has put them on a pace to finish their careers, while others look to check specific boxes that could solidify who they were as a player. And some of these totals may be thanks to the current league benchmarks in the NFL.

Regardless, milestones are milestones, and one player to look out for this season is none other than Aaron Rodgers.

The biggest milestone up for grabs is for the center of attention this offseason, Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is just 25 touchdowns away from surpassing 500 in his career, which would make him the 5th quarterback to ever reach the 500 club, with Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Brett Favre amongst the group.

Since Rogers has surpassed 25 touchdowns in every season he’s played more than 9 games, it’s safe to assume he’ll reach the benchmark. But going off of his per-game average, he is expected to reach this total in 242 career games, which would be the fastest in NFL history.

So, for a deeper look, here is how Rodgers’ numbers would look if he threw for at least 25 scores this upcoming year.

G - 242

Completions - 5,181

Attempts - 7,936

Yards - 63,774

TDs - 500

INTs - 109

If he continues at this pace, he would also have by far the lowest interception rate of the group at 1.4%, and he is continuing to climb the list of other volume statistics for his career, while not hurting his per-game numbers.

With Rodgers taking the pay cut ahead of his two remaining years, thus taking a cap hit of just $8.8 million this year and $17.1 million next year, another restructuring would need to be done for the Jets to still be in a position to win in 2025.

But if A-Rod continues to play at the level he has, he could start to close in on Tom Brady’s career stats with the weapons around him in New York already.
