Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign website was updated on Sunday night to add a section outlining her policy positions, after some criticism from the GOP of the Democratic presidential nominee for not clearly outlining her platform.

On Sunday evening, Harris’ campaign website added a new “Issues” section that describes her platform as “A New Way Forward”—a reference to her speech at the Democratic National Convention last month.

The page features four main sections, highlighting various policy ideas on the economy, freedoms, law and order and national security.

The section on the economy—an area where Trump holds a strong polling edge—is the longest and includes proposals for middle-class tax cuts, affordable childcare, tackling price gouging, lowering healthcare causes and strengthening social security.

At the end of each of the four sections, the Harris campaign contrasts her proposals with Project 2025—the sweeping hard-right policy initiative authored by the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation.

While former President Donald Trump has repeatedly distanced himself and his campaign from the controversial right-wing blueprint, Harris’ website describes it as “Trump’s Project 2025 Agenda.”

The Harris campaign has come under criticism from Republicans in recent weeks for offering few concrete policy proposals. Late last month the vice president sat down for an interview with CNN alongside running mate Tim Walz to discuss some of her policy ideas and shifting positions on some issues. In the interview, Harris discussed her plans to build a so-called “opportunity economy” and help the middle class. This included expanding the child tax credit, a proposed $25,000 assistance to first-time homebuyers, a cap on out-of-pocket spending on prescription medications and a tax increase for wealthy Americans and large corporations. Harris also noted that her views on fracking have changed and she doesn’t support a ban on the fossil fuel extraction process anymore—a shift from her stance during the 2020 Democratic primaries. Her campaign’s policy page makes no mention of fracking, only stating she plans to build on her work on tackling the climate crisis and lowering household energy costs, among other things.

Freedom, an overarching theme for Harris throughout the Democratic National Convention, reappears in the vice president’s policy platform including promises to “restore…reproductive freedom” and “protect civil rights.” The campaign assails Trump on these issues, calling him a “threat to our fundamental rights and freedoms,” and adds: “He brags that he is “proudly” responsible for handpicking Supreme Court Justices who overturned Roe, unleashing Trump Abortion Bans in states across the country, putting women’s lives at risk and threatening doctors and other health providers with jail time.”

Last month, the Republican National Committee launched a website kamala2024policies.com to mock the vice president for not outlining a policy platform on her own campaign website. The RNC-funded website attacks the vice president by calling her “Weak, Failed, and Dangerously Liberal,” and her plans as “radical.” The page accuses Harris of being weak on violent crimes, raising taxes for the middle class, opening the border and giving social security and Medicare to undocumented migrants.
