Following the launch of the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro earlier this year, Google has refreshed the Google Store not only with the new smartphones, but also the refurbished store. While a long-standing stalwart has moved on, Google has cut the price of the Pixel 7 family, with the Pixel 7a cut to just $339.

Earlier this year, Google removed the Pixel 6a from the refurbished store due to battery issues. It has now removed the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones from the store, leaving the Pixel 7 family as the sole option for refurbished devices.

Given this is close enough to one year after the launch of the refurbished store, the annual cycle of smartphones and the associated release of a new Android version makes the depreciation of the Pixel family feel appropriate.

Curiously, there’s no mention of the Pixel 8 family joining the older Pixel 7 family in the refurbished store. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro were the first Google phones advertised as being “AI-first” smartphones. With the continued push towards AI, offering AI smartphones with silicon focused on delivering AI-based benefits, I do not doubt that the 8 and Pro will show up in the near future.

The Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7a smartphones on sale are all refurbished units. As before, they have undergone several tests, and some parts will have been replaced as required. Special attention is paid to the battery, housing and screens during the process, as well as an update to the latest version of Android.

The current pricing features the Pixel 7 Pro available for $539 (down from the previous refurbished price of $629), the Pixel 7 for $359 (down from $429), and the Pixel 7a for $339.

Stock levels will not be as predictable as buying a new device, so if you see an offer that you do want, then you should consider a speedy purchase, as it may not be available. You can browse the stock and buy your refurbished Pixels here.
