Posen will serve as a “cultural curator” and “creative partner” to Gap’s President and CEO Richard Dickson, Gap said in a statement.

Dickson said in the release Posen is a “great fit” for the company as it works to “ignite a new culture of creativity” and “reinvigorate” its brands.

For Old Navy, the former Project Runway judge’s “immediate focus” will be leading design, merchandising and marketing” for the brand, with president and CEO Haio Barbeito reporting directly to him, according to the release.

Gap and Old Navy did not immediately respond to Forbes’ requests for comment.

Known for his evening gowns, Posen’s influential career has spanned more than two decades—hosting his first independent show in 2002 when he was just 22 years old. He joined Project Runway in 2012 and left after six seasons in 2018 alongside Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. His namesake brand, House of Z, closed its doors in November 2019 after he lost the faith of his investors, leading to the layoffs of his 60-member staff.
