The third installment of the “Frozen” movies is set to hit theaters on Nov. 24, 2027, reportedly following production delays that pushed back the release date.

Disney told Forbes on Tuesday the official release date would be the day before Thanksgiving in 2027, after confirmed “Frozen 3” would be released some time in 2027 at its D23 conference last week.

The first glimpse of concept art for the third movie was previewed at D23 last week, too, and it depicted sisters Anna and Elsa—along with their snowman friend Olaf—on horses heading into a horizon.

The movie was originally scheduled to be released in 2026, but faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and last year’s actors’ and writers’ strikes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Both “Frozen” and “Frozen II” were released around Thanksgiving weekends—in 2013 and 2019, respectively—and were back-to-back billion dollar movies for Disney, according to data from BoxOfficeMojo.

Forbes has reached out to Disney to confirm the release date.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has hinted at a “Frozen 4” in the past, but the company has yet to officially confirm a fourth installment. At D23 last Friday, though, chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Jennifer Lee seemingly confirmed another movie, saying “there were a lot of questions coming out of Frozen 2…it will take two films to answer them.”

$2.7 billion. That’s how much “Frozen” and “Frozen II” brought in worldwide for Disney during their stints in theaters. “Frozen” grossed $1.3 billion during its 2013 release, and was outperformed by its sequel, which brought in $1.4 billion.

Whether “Frozen 3” will beat “Inside Out 2” at the box office. Before this summer, “Frozen 2” held the title of highest-grossing animated film, ahead of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” ($1.36 billion) and its first installment. But in late July, “Inside Out 2” became the highest-grossing animated movie, collecting more than $1.4 billion in box office sales since its release in June.

A couple of other movie announcements came out of the D23 conference, including the release date for the third “Avatar” movie, “Avatar: Fire & Ash” (Dec. 19, 2025). Pixar’s “Hoppers,” a film following a young girl whose brain is put in a beaver, is set to be released March 6, 2026, Deadline reported.
