Dispatches from Ukraine. Day 590

Kharkiv region. A Russian missile strike yesterday on the village of Hroza killed at least 51 civilians. The deadly attack struck a grocery facility filled with people who had gathered for a memorial lunch. The death toll continues to rise as rescue services clear debris. “Russian terror must be stopped,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared. “All those who help Russia circumvent sanctions are criminals. Those who continue to support Russia are all supporting evil.” The population of Hroza before the attack was approximately 500 people.

Two Iskander missiles struck residential areas in the city of Kharkiv today. The attack claimed the lives of a 10-year-old boy and his 67-year-old grandmother, and wounded more than 30 others, including an 11-month-old child. It also demolished a three-story apartment building and damaged two others.

Kherson region. Russia forces carried out an airstrike on a hospital in the village of Beryslav yesterday, destroying the top floor and wounding two medical workers. Several ambulances also were damaged.
