In an interview Monday, former President Donald Trump was asked how he would win back independent female suburban voters who’ve been turned off by Trump’s election lies and criminal cases. “First of all, I won in 2020 by a lot, okay? Let’s get that straight. I won in 2020.”

As Trump began to repeat a litany of election-related lies like “stuffed ballots,” Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier was blunt: “you lost the 2020 election,” and then countered Trump’s lies. “There were recounts in all of the swing states,” Baier said. “There was not significant widespread fraud.” Baier noted that a series of lawsuits alleging voter fraud ultimately produced “no evidence.”

Baier also asked Trump about the records case brought against him by the federal government, leading Trump to say that the only way the National Archives could get documents back would be to say “please, please, please, could we have it back?”

Trump said he didn’t immediately return government documents because he “wanted to go through the boxes and get all of my personal things out.” Trump said he didn’t do that because he was “very busy.”
