Fortnite has featured its next artist just a week or two after it released the KPop Demon Hunters into the game. But this one is not from an animated movie, and currently one of the biggest artists producing music in the market. That would be Doja Cat.

After some leaks, Fortnite has now officially revealed its Doja Cat skins, which are a pair of looks that flash back to some of her previous outfits she’s worn in the past. Her skins will be out tomorrow, Thursday, October 9.

Doja Cat has had multiple #1 hits on the Billboard charts over the years, and is putting out videos frequently, as we speak, from Jealous Type to Stranger. She joins a long list of music artists featured in Fortnite who have gotten their own skins, and I’m going to try to remember the long list of them at this point:

I’m not 100% sure that’s all of them, but it’s got to be close. Now Doja Cat is added to the list. I’m not entirely sure how she’s meant to fit into Fortnitemares. Skins are coming for Ghostface from Scream and Art the Clown from Terrifier. Even the KPop Demon Hunters fight demons. But sure, Doja Cat, why not?

MORE FOR YOU

Fortnite continues to try to build out its metaverse, drastically increasing the pace of its collaborations in recent months and years. Most of them are fictional characters from movies, TV and video games, but they are adding more and more real people over time. I’d say that other than musicians, athletes are probably the next biggest group. That or video game content creators. I do wonder if they’ve decreased pursuing content creators due to many in the space stumbling into controversy in one way or another.

Lately, the pursuit is of currently relevant musicians. I keep wondering if they will ever be able to land their white whale, Taylor Swift, given that they’ve had similar musicians like Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish join up. I’m not sure she has any interest in this, as it’s not like she needs the extra promotion (her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, just broke a ton of records).

As for Doja Cat, I like Doja Cat. I mean, maybe not enough to buy her skin, but maybe enough to listen to her album after I write this post, as she’s now on my mind.
