Marcelo Brozovic has to choose between FC Barcelona and Saudia Arabia.
One of FC Barcelona's biggest transfer targets this summer must make a choice between the Catalans and joining Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi giants Al-Nassr, according to Mundo Deportivo and reports from Italy.
Marcelo Brozovic is coming off one of his strongest seasons in the European elite, helping his club Inter Milan finish runners-up to Manchester City and his country Croatia finish second in the Nations League won by Barca star Gavi's Spain last weekend.
In recent days, there have been increased reports that Brozovic could join Gavi and injured fellow Spaniard Pedri at Camp Nou this summer.
Since January, there have been reports that Brozovic could be included as part of a swap deal with Franck Kessie yet it has been difficult for Barca and Inter to see eye-to-eye on the potential transfer.
On Frida, however - just a week after the same newspaper explained that Barca will only sell Kessie for €35 million ($38 million) - SPORT reported that Barca are now "betting" on Brozovic and have already tabled an offer of around €15 million ($16.3 million) for him with none of their players going to the San Siro in exchange.
If the move goes ahead, it would be a bargain for Barca who would pick up a top class midfielder that still has three years left to run on his contract.
Over at Mundo Deportivo, however, they report how while Brozovic prefers to go to Barca above all, he is being pushed in another direction by his agent.
The Blaugrana aren't the only outfit interested in the Russia 2018 World Cup finalist, with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League also knocking on his door.
As was well-known in the failed pursuit of Lionel Messi, Barca can't compete when it comes to the salaries clubs from the Middle East country can offer.
Joining from Manchester United at the turn of 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo earns a reported €200 million ($218 million) at Al-Nassr which contributed to him topping Forbes' list of the World's Highest-Paid Athletes last month.
It is safe to say that Brozovic won't be offered anything near this, but the proposal, and commission his agent will be in line to receive, should still dwarf Barca's package by some distance.
