Messinho dreams of playing for FC Barcelona.

"Messinho" could be the next Brazilian star of tomorrow signed by FC Barcelona.

Palmeiras

FC Barcelona have another Brazilian "bomb" prepared for them who is known as the 'Little Messi' according to the agent of Vitor Roque. Furthermore, the young prodigy has also professed in the past that he dreams of playing for the club.

Andre Cury is Barca's former eyes in Brazil who was pivotal in the Catalans landing Vitor Roque as the youngster's representative.

Barca announced the signing of the 18-year-old "Tigrinho" ("Little Tiger") from Athletico Paranaense on Wednesday, with the deal worth a reported €30 million ($33.5 million) fixed plus a further €31 million ($34.6 million) in variables.

To El Larguero, Cury confirmed that Roque will cross the Atlantic in January when the transfer market opens and was also asked about the interesting phenomenon that sees Brazilian stars join the club in years that end with the number three.

Romaro arrived at Camp Nou in 2003, and was followed by Ronaldinho in 2002 and Neymar in 2013.

Vitor Roque has been signed in 2023, and Cury was asked if there will be another big Brazilian transfer in 2023 to which the agent said he "hope it will be before".

"We have another bomb for the club," Cury revealed, before prompting the show's co-host Santi Ovalle to fill in the blanks.

"He’s called Estevao Willian," Ovalle explained, while also describing the player as a 16-year-old starlet for Palmeiras, who have already rejected a big offer from Europe for him, who is the "next big figure in Brazilian football".

In another radio appearance over on RAC 1, Cury provided his own description.

"He is a player similar to Messi," Cury said. "He is a super talent, from 2007. He is a spectacle, the next Ballon d’Or.

"But there have been no contacts between clubs to sign him," Cury denied.

Though this might be the case, Mundo Deportivo reacted to Cury's remarks and reminded its readers that it has long reported on how Barca have been monitoring "the evolution of a special talent".

Also brought up is an interview with the Catalan newspaper from July last year, when a then-15-year-old Willian said it was his dream "to go to Europe and play for Barcelona, which is my dream as a child".

"No, but my childhood dream is to one day arrive at Barca and the Camp Nou," he reiterated, when asked if he had ever visited the iconic stadium not being renovated.

These comments from the young pearl sway heavily in Barca's favor, but were made before he signed a contract on his 16th birthday with Palmeiras which came with a €60 million ($67 million) release clause attached to it.

This is the exact fee that Barca can't raise for a much-needed pivot such as Martin Zubimendi, yet "Messinho" wouldn't be able to switch allegiances until he turned 18 in any case.

Also a positive is that Palmeiras are a financially-stable club who don't need the money, so Barca might be able to agree a deal more suited to their economic needs.

Last year, the Sao Paulo giants agreed a deal worth an initial €35 million ($39 million) for Endrick which could rise to €60 million ($67 million) if a series of objectives are met.

This would be far more affordable for Barca, and isn't far off the arrangement they hashed out with Athletico-PR for Vitor Roque.
