FC Barcelona have joined forces with Inter Miami in a bid to thwart Al Hilal's plan to sign Lionel Messi according to L'Equipe.

Messi is no longer a Paris Saint Germain player as of June 30 when his contract at the Parc des Princes expires.

At present, Barca are currently struggling to put together a viability plan to convince La Liga that they can make the return of their greatest ever player work financially, which is making the Argentine's father and agent Jorge Messi "nervous" according to Gerard Romero.

Jorge Messi contacted La Liga on Tuesday for an update regarding what is happening with the viability plan, Romero reported, with the league set to meet and discuss the matter at 10AM in Spain on Wednesday morning.

Over in the Middle East, money is never an issue with Al-Hilal reported by El Chiringuito to have tabled an astronomical €350 million ($375 million) offer accepted by Messi.

Jorge Messi has denied that their camp has an agreement in place with anyone. Yet over at L'Equipe in France, they report that Barca are planning to join forces with another party Messi is linked to in MLS franchise Inter Miami.

The partnership would see Inter Miami sign Messi before sending him to Catalonia on loan. This would then allow Messi to play one last season in Blaugrana colors before heading off to the US where Argentina will defend their Copa America title in the summer of 2024.

By pulling off the coup, Barca would also have a way of jumping over the financial hurdles that stand in their way and also hand David Beckham-owned Miami the biggest signing in their short history.

In Messi's homeland, however, TyC journalist Cesar Luis Merlo reports that Inter Miami have made a formal offer for Messi but have ruled out any kind of lending the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner to the Catalans.

One thing numerous reporters do agree on, though, is that Messi will come to a decision in the coming days with his Ligue 1 season set to conclude on Sunday when PSG take on Clermont Foot on Sunday.
