The Rainbow Bridge is closed in both directions as of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, and the FBI Buffalo office is investigating the vehicle explosion at the bridge with the help of local, state and federal officers.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she had been briefed and officials “are closely monitoring the situation” and that state agencies are “on site and ready to assist.”
Aaron Ferguson, a public information officer for the City of Niagara Falls, said in a news release that the incident involved “a vehicle coming into the United States,” according to the Buffalo News.
The incident led to the closure of the other three bridges connecting the U.S. and Canada, according to ABC News.
