Successful television series never really officially end; they come back in revivals. And the latest potential reboot is the feel-good Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which is in development on ABC with new co-hosts Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin. The pair, known for their Home Edit lifestyle brand, will “utilize their skill to help families decide what to keep and what to let go as they prepare for life in their updated homes while making their dream homes a reality.”

Recently, Shearer and Teplin hosted Get Organized with The Home Edit on Netflix, where they helped celebrities and everyday clients edit, categorize and contain their clutter to create appealing spaces.

If this moves forward, it won’t be the first time Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has been rebooted. The original series, which aired on ABC from 2004-12 with Ty Pennington, had a one season revival on HGTV in 2020 with Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson as host.

Mirroring the original, this new incarnation aims to “showcase great stories, inspired volunteers, and mind-blowing home renovations and builds for families who give back to their communities.”
