The video posted on Monday afternoon—which is still online at the time of publishing—attempts to show the fallout of a potential Trump victory with graphics of headlines like “It’s a landslide! Trump wins,” and “American prosperity is back.”
Under the headline “What’s Next For America” the video features slightly hazy text that reads “industrial strength…significantly increased…driven by the creation of a unified Reich.”
The phrase “Reich” is usually linked Nazi Germany, which Adolf Hitler referred to as the Third Reich.
The mentions of the “Reich” were flagged by a Biden-Harris campaign X account which said “Trump posts a new ad foreshadowing a second Trump term that says he will create a “UNIFIED REICH,” echoing Nazi Germany.”
The video was posted on the former president’s account when Trump’s Manhattan hush money trial broke for lunch on Monday.
Trump’s campaign press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, told the Associated Press: “This was not a campaign video, it was created by a random account online and reposted by a staffer who clearly did not see the word, while the President was in court.”
