Donald Trump says he’s ready to testify in his own defense should he be indicted for his role in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. “We’ll have fun on the stand with all of these people that say the Presidential Election wasn’t Rigged or Stollen (sic),” the former president wrote Wednesday on his Truth Social platform. Trump went on to say it would be “THE TRIAL OF THE CENTURY!!!”
Trump faces federal charges over January 6, along with a potential indictment in Georgia over Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election—with the Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis reportedly considering charges including solicitation to commit election fraud and conspiracy to commit election fraud, according to sources who spoke to The Guardian.

Trump’s statement comes as his former lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, conceded in a signed stipulation that he made “false” statements when he accused two Georgia election workers of mishandling ballots while counting the vote in Atlanta during the 2020 election. In a court filing, Giuliani said he no longer disputes that his statements were “actionable” and “false.” The former New York City mayor was sued by the election workers for defamation.

Last week, Trump revealed that federal prosecutors had sent him a “target letter” warning him that he could be indicted in relation to the January 6 attack. “Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, “giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment.”
Trump told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity that he got the letter Sunday, and accused prosecutors of being “in a rush because they want to interfere...it’s interference in the election.”
Trump—whose legal woes include business fraud charges in New York, a defamation trial brought by E. Jean Carroll that’s set for trial in January, and a trial in May involving the classified documents discovered at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home—continues to accuse prosecutors of “election interference” intended to hurt his 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump—in separate posts on Truth Social Wednesday—said “2024 ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!” and “PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT!!!” before returning to his familiar campaign slogan, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
