Britney Spears is gearing up for the highly-anticipated release later this month of her memoir, The Woman In Me. The book is poised to make its mark on the New York Times bestsellers list, likely securing its place as one of the top titles of the year in 2023. In addition to establishing Spears as an accomplished author and increasing her wealth, there's also the possibility that her autobiography could earn her another Grammy nomination.

The Woman In Me is set to be available in both physical and audiobook formats, with pre-sale links already up on Amazon AMZN . That said, the narrator for the audiobook has yet to be officially announced.

As of July 2023, Spears had reportedly not made a decision on whether she would narrate the audiobook herself. While it's not uncommon for authors of high-profile memoirs to narrate their own audiobooks for various reasons, not everyone is suited for or interested in this task.

If Spears decides to narrate the audiobook for The Woman In Me herself, she could potentially submit it for Grammy consideration in the Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording category. Past winners of the field have included musicians like Janis Ian and Quincy Jones, as well as non-musicians like Viola Davis, Don Cheadle, Rachel Maddow, and politicians such as Barack and Michelle Obama (separately), Bill and Hillary Clinton (separately), and Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions.

Spears could be a strong contender for a nomination in this category based on her popularity alone. Unlike many other Grammy categories, nominees and winners in the Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording category are almost always high-profile and respected individuals, which isn't a given in the musical fields.

Chances are that when it comes time to pick possible winners, many Grammy voters may not have had the opportunity to listen to all the submissions. If they’re picking nominees based on familiar names and who they might like to see win, as opposed to the great work they’ve done on their audiobooks, Spears would likely be a frontrunner for the honor...if she does the narration at all.

If Spears chooses to voice her own audiobook, it won't be eligible for the upcoming Grammys. The eligibility period closed on September 15, and the awards will be presented in early 2024. Therefore, Spears's potential nomination and any subsequent award would not occur until late 2024 and early 2025, respectively.
