Conservatives have rushed to defend former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany after she was ridiculed by her former boss, Donald Trump. “This is pathetic,” said Chad Prather, a host at Blaze TV, saying that McEnany “took bullets for his man. We have a guy in the White House destroying the country and you go after her?”

On Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends Wednesday, co-host Brian Kilmeade said “attacking Kayleigh McEnany is insane.”

On Tuesday, Trump targeted McEnany, calling her “Milktoast” and accusing her of giving out “the wrong poll numbers on Fox News.” Trump was reacting to an appearance McEnany made on Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters Primetime, where she discussed Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis closing in on Trump in recent polls. “If you look at the polling now, it was Trump 34 in Iowa, it’s now Trump 25,” she said. “That’s double digits.”

Trump, in a post to his Truth Social platform, said McEnany “knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll.” He went on to say that “the RINOs and Globalists can have her. Fox News should only use REAL Stars!!!”
