Comcast announced Tuesday it will launch a streaming bundle with Peacock, Netflix and AppleTV+ later this month, multiple outlets reported, the latest move as more companies partner up and bundle services to compete in the ever-growing streaming game.
The bundle is set to be released later this month, though some specifics remain unclear.
The streaming bundle, dubbed StreamSaver, is set to debut at a low price point later this month, Variety reported, citing comments from Comcast CEO Brian Roberts at MoffettNathanson’s Tuesday 2024 Media, Internet and Communications Conference.
Roberts reportedly said the new bundle will be at a “vastly reduced price to anything in the market today.”
The pricing for the bundle, as well as what kinds of plans will be included, are unclear—Forbes has contacted Comcast for more information.
StreamSaver will be available to all Comcast TV, broadband and mobile customers, according to Variety.
Last Wednesday, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery announced they are launching a streaming bundle for Disney+, Hulu and Max. The streaming bundle, which will offer ad-free and ad-supported plans, is set to launch this summer.
Streaming has become more prevalent in recent years with more companies developing—and bundling—their own platforms. It overtook cable television viewership for the first time in August 2022, per NBC News, a trend that has since continued and is also affecting subscription rates. As a result, more media companies are bundling top streaming brands in order to receive and retain subscribers. In addition to Wednesday’s newly announced streaming bundle, Warner Bros. Discovery announced in February, alongside ESPN and Fox, a new sports streaming platform will be coming this fall. Reports also circulated in December that Apple and Paramount were also in discussion about launching their own streaming bundle. Verizon also began offering its own Netflix and Max bundle in December, allowing subscribers to access the platforms for $10 monthly.
