Defense attorney Paula Canny, who represents defendant Nima Momeni, claimed the camera footage prosecutors plan to use as evidence isn’t enough to support a murder charge, arguing, “I don’t think you can see anything in the videos,” Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal reported.
Momeni, a fellow tech executive in the Bay Area who owns information technology consulting company Expand IT, was scheduled to be arraigned today, but his arraignment has been pushed to May 2 per Canny’s request.
Canny said the reason for the postponement was to allow more time to review the police report and autopsy on Lee.
Momeni was arrested earlier this month and charged with murder for allegedly stabbing Lee to death early on April 4, and he has remained in San Francisco County jail for almost two weeks.
