The film, which has a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 27 critics’ reviews, tells the story of stripper Anora, whose impulsive marriage to Ivan is threatened when his Russian oligarch parents learn of the arrangement and travel to New York to force an annulment.
“All We Imagine As Light,” by Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, won the Grand Prix, or the second-most prestigious award at the festival.
