Jin, the oldest member of the K-pop boy band BTS, completed his mandatory 18-month service with South Korea’s military Wednesday, making him the first member of the band to do so.

The 31-year-old was dressed in military camo uniform and a black beret as he exited the military base in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi province.
Outside the gate, Jin was greeted by fellow bandmates J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook who hugged him and handed him a bouquet of flowers, according to Yonhap News Agency.
RM, who is serving in a military brass band as part of his mandatory requirement, played the band’s hit song Dynamite on a saxophone as BTS members greeted Jin.
The K-pop superstar then appeared on a live stream for his fans on the Korean social platform Weverse, where he spoke about crying during his discharge ceremony.
In the video, Jin said the last year and six months were fun and “It's such a relief I met so many amazing people,” according to a translation by Reuters.
