“Bridgerton” surged in viewership in June to become the most-watched show across any single month for the entire year, earning 9.3 billion viewing minutes in June to help push up Netflix use and claim the most-watched title across all of streaming for the second month in a row.

Bryan Cranston’s "Your Honor," a 2020 thriller that ran for two seasons and is now available to stream on Netflix and Paramount+, was the second most-watched show of June with 7.5 billion minutes viewed, followed by "The Boys" on Prime Video (4 billion minutes) and "House of the Dragon" on HBO (3.4 billion minutes).

The 9.3 million minutes fans spent watching “Bridgerton” in June was more than they spent watching any other most-streamed monthly title so far this year, with “Your Honor” in second place.

"Fallout” on Prime Video, the most-watched show of April, is in third place by monthly viewership this year with 7 million viewing minutes in a single month.

“Bridgerton” released the first four episodes of its third season in May and was also the most-watched streaming title of that month, but with only 5.5 billion viewing minutes.

With two of the most-streamed shows available on Netflix, the streamer increased its share of TV usage to 8.4%, up from 7.6% in May.

YouTube is still the most-used streaming service (accounting for 8.8% of all TV usage in June), followed by Netflix, Hulu at 3.5% and Prime Video at 3.2%.

40.3%. That's how much TV usage was spent streaming content in the month of May, the highest share ever recorded by Nielsen. That number breaks the previous high of 38.8%, recorded in May. The spike can be largely attributed to more streaming by children, Nielsen said, with a 16% increase in viewing month-over-month seen in kids aged 2 to 11.

Broadcast and cable viewership dropped in June despite the good performance of the NBA finals and first presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Broadcast fell to account for 20.5% of TV usage last month—down from 22.3% in May. Five NBA Finals games accounted for the top five most-watched broadcasts of the month, followed by ABC's simulcast of the presidential debate, Game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals and the women’s gymnastics Olympic Trials on NBC, which drew 7.4 million viewers. The same decline was seen in cable viewership, which fell from 28.2% of TV use in May to 27.2% in June despite the stellar performance of the presidential debate bringing 10 million viewers to CNN and 9.5 million to Fox News.
