Cooperman, the longtime chairman and CEO of Omega Advisors, said in an interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box” Biden has “lost his step,” joking he might write in one of the show’s hosts—Joe Kernen or Andrew Ross Sorkin—instead of voting for Biden or Trump.

Cooperman said Trump has good economic ideas but “disgraceful” behavior, and cited the former president’s insults of former Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and people with disabilities as reasons he would not vote for Trump.

Cooperman also said Biden has allowed himself to be in the pocket of the progressives, who Cooperman says are destructive to the Democratic party.

In the interview, Cooperman said his 2020 vote for Biden was a vote against Trump and noted he wrote-in Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) in 2016.

“I'm not happy with either one, we have two candidates running, one's bad, the other one’s worse,” Cooperman said Tuesday. “I don’t know who’s bad or who’s worse.”

We estimate Cooperman’s net worth is $2.8 billion after founding Omega Advisors hedge fund in the 1990s, making him the 1,217 wealthiest person in the world.
