Bill Burr’s post-election Saturday Night Live monologue Saturday night angered some X users—and pleased others.

Burr, of course, is no stranger to rankling Saturday Night Live audiences. The actor-comedian was embroiled in a similar controversy for his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live in 2020 when, Per USA Today, he mocked cancel culture, the woke movement and LGBTQ Pride.

In his SNL monologue Saturday night on NBC, Burr, naturally, brought up the 2024 presidential election race between Democratic VP Kamala Harris and former Republican President Donald Trump.

He joked about women candidates going “0 and 2” against Trump—alluding to former Secretary of State and Senator Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss—and pointedly joked about how female candidates need to learn from the defeats.

“So, let’s get into the game tape: All right, ladies, enough with the pantsuit, OK? It’s not working; stop trying to have respect for yourselves,” Burr said. “You don’t win the office on policy, you gotta whore it up a little bit. I’m not saying go full Hooters but find a happy medium between Applebee’s and your dad didn’t stick around.

“You all know how to get a free drink, Burr added. “And I know a lot of ugly women—feminists I mean—don’t want to hear this message, but just tease them a little bit. Make a farmer feel like he’s got a shot.”

Burr’s brazen observations were met with fury on X, where he was criticized for his post-election comments, as well his jokes about COVID and Asians.

As such, X users including Trevor Dorn posted, “I am so disgusted with how #snl has decided to handle this moment. F—- Bill Burr, too,” while Jeremy London posted, “Bill Burr gave the worst monologue in SNL history last night. Holy hell.”

X user Garin Pirnia also posted, “Bill Burr calling feminists ‘ugly’ and blaming Asians for spreading diseases isn’t funny. Welcome to Trump’s America. #SNL.”

Some X Users Celebrated Bill Burr’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ Monologue

While Bill Burr had several detractors on X following his post-election Saturday Night Live monologue, he also earned praise from various users on Elon Musk’s social media platform.

Among them was X user BQ, who wrote, “I don't watch SNL but I had to watch Bill Burr's monologue after hearing the woke crowd got offended again. This is f—-ing hilarious! This is what real comedy is. If people get offended, that's their problem for taking jokes seriously.”

In addition, Winnie Schola wrote, “Bill Burr talks about Trump’s big win. The funniest sets I’ve seen on SNL.”

Trump, however, didn’t escape Burr’s wrath during the monologue. Burr called Trump an “orange bigot” and a “lunatic”—the second insult in reference to Trump for standing up immediately after he was targeted in an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania in July.
