Holt will interview Biden on NBC Nightly News at 9 p.m. ET Monday, the network announced Wednesday.
The interview is part of a flurry of media spots Biden has done since the June 27 debate as part of a concerted effort to reassure voters and his party that he is the best candidate to beat Trump in November.
The clean-up attempt is widely viewed among Democrats as falling short of what needs to be done to right the course of his campaign, however, as he continues to face a slow drip of calls for his resignation and more influential lawmakers have expressed doubts about his future.
On Friday, Biden sat for a 22-minute interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in which he insisted the debate was just a “bad night” and rebuffed calls from some Democrats, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to take a cognitive test.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
