The bodies, which reportedly include one man, were located in the ship's hull, The Guardian reported, citing unnamed sources.
The news comes half an hour after it was reported rescuers had managed to breach the vessel’s main hull, but that access to some of the cabins were still blocked by furniture and other debris.
The luxury yacht sank in bad weather in the early hours of Monday morning; the six people who have not been accounted for are British tech entrepreneur Michael Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, Morgan Stanley International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy and attorney Chris Morvillo and his wife, Neda.
One person, believed to be the yacht's chef Recaldo Thomas, has been confirmed dead and 15 others were rescued. A spokesperson for the Italian coastguard on Tuesday said those missing are presumed dead.
