At least four people were killed in a mass shooting in Hampton, Georgia, according to the Associated Press, as county officials say the suspect is still at large.
Henry County spokesperson Melissa Robinson confirmed to the Associated Press that four people were shot and killed in Hampton—a city located 40 miles south of Atlanta—earlier on Saturday.
The shooting began around 10:45 a.m. EST on Saturday, according to Henry County officials, who noted an investigation and a search for the suspect was ongoing.
The Hampton Police Department described the suspect as an approximately 5-foot-10 man—who was last seen driving a back 2017 GMC Arcadia—in his mid-50s wearing a dark shirt with a red tone.
Police and county officials have cautioned locals to avoid the Hampton area.
The Hampton Police Department is expected to release additional information about the shooting and the suspect later Saturday.
