Two police officers were wounded during the shoot-out with the gunman, both of whom are in the hospital, the Farmington Police Department said in its post.

The suspected shooter’s identity remains unknown, per the post.

There are “multiple civilian victims,” at least three of whom are dead.

The location of the shooting was not disclosed, but Farmington is located in the northwest corner of the state, just beneath the border with Colorado.

Farmington’s schools went into “preventative lockdowns” on Monday, which were lifted in the afternoon, according to a report from Farmington Daily Times.
