Gershkovich’s pretrial detention was extended until at least August 30, a Russian court ruled, the state-run TASS news agency reported Tuesday.
His pretrial detention was originally set to expire on May 29 but Federal Security Service investigators, commonly known as the FSB, asked a judge in Moscow’s Lefortovo District to extend the detention and the judge complied, TASS reported.
Gershkovich, 31, has been held in Lefortovo prison since the end of March.
