Amazon’s Web Services (AWS) has cut its relationship with Triumph Tech. There was a close relationship with the Philadelphia based firm which was considered a “premier tier partner,” which is the top tier AWS designation.

Speculation for the cause of the split centers around the fact that Triumph was giving aggressive estimates. This may be a reason. Triumph has partnered with other, smaller companies. Triumph expects that their relationship with Amazon will end in September after having grown during the pandemic.

AWS has hundreds of channel partners. This week AWS removed Triumph Tech from a web-page that lists the many channel partners that work with AWS. Triumph CEO Raymond said that the company employs more than 170 people and was preparing to expand operation to Canada, Israel and Europe.

At a company meting Raymond told associates that the relationship with AWS would end in September. I am told that several employees are posting their availability due to some unforeseen circumstances.

At the same time Bilbao Argentaria S.A. (BBVA), a global banking leader will use AWS to deliver advanced analytics and data services in the cloud. It is the largest banking institution in Mexico and it has leading franchises throughout South America. It is also the leading shareholder in Turkey’s Garanti.

BBVA is taking a decisive step in its data and artificial intelligence (AI) transformation process. As part of its transformation into a data – and AI driven organization, BBVA will use AWS to harness analytics and machine learning to transform its internal process, improve risk management, drive growth and provide innovative solutions for its customers.

AWS this week announced an agreement with Veriff, the global leader in identity verification. Veriff will improve AWS’ IT infrastructure. Doing so will allow AWS to keep ahead of the increasingly sophisticated fraud attacks and ensure swift, safe digital services for everyone, from people applying for a loan to commuters in need of a ride.

Veriff’s 2023 Identity Fraud Report revealed a 17.9% increase in fraudulent attacks during 2022. Bad actors and fraudsters are adopting emerging technologies including generative AI, as they attempt to steal identities, launder money and access customer accounts. Staying ahead of these threats requires Veriff to train and deploy its identity verification technology model faster, without compromising security.

POSTSCRIPT: We are learning about sophisticated means to ensure safety and banking sophistication. AWS is the most profitable arm of Amazon, and its recent announcements make it invaluable. People are looking for guidance in security and AWS can surely provide some of the best possible means to prevent big intrusions.
