The alleged new shirt design and logo for FC Barcelona's home kit, to mark their 125th anniversary has been leaked online by Footy Headlines and X account Memorabilia1899.

FC Barcelona was founded as a club on November 29, 1899, meaning that it has just marked its 124th anniversary.

President Joan Laporta headed an event on said date this year and unveiled both a manifesto and logo that the club will be using "to celebrate the symbolic milestone".

A Commissioner of events related to the 125th anniversary has already been appointed in David Caraben, and Barca hopes to return to what should be its recently-finished Spotify Camp Nou stadium in November 2024.

Memorabilia 1899 already shared the new logo on the 124th anniversary. A week later, Footy Headlines has uploaded images of what appears to be the Blaugrana's new home kit in 2024/2025 sporting the logo.

Furthermore, it has some pictures of a different logo Nike NKE has designed.

In comparison, the Nike logo uses the modern Barca badge and makes it multi-colored, while also adding a more simple '125' on the sleeve of a themed black polo shirt with a gold collar.

Footy Headlines suggests how it's possible "that the existence of two different anniversary logos is a reason for the recent tensions between Nike and FC Barcelona".

Nike has supplied Barca's kits since 1998, and pays the Catalans $167 million (€155 million) as part of a contract that was renewed in 2016 and runs until 2028.

SPORT recently reported that Barca believes this amount is "below market price", which has led to it wanting to negotiate fresh terms with the American sports apparel giant. Additionally, it also has some concerns about the quality of designs while Nike feels that Barca sometimes encounter delays in taking decisions or reaching deadlines.

Waiting to see how things pan out between Nike and Barca is New Balance. The rival brand once more commonly associated with running shoes is making strides in the soccer business.

Providing kits for Porto and Lille, it has recently snatched future Real Madrid star Endrick and Liverpool away from Nike and would reportedly like to do likewise with Barca.
