A shelter-in-place order has been issued in a Maine city by state police, siting an active shooting situation.
Maine State Police said, in a Facebook post, that there is an active shooting situation in Lewiston, a city of 36,000, 35 miles north of Portland.

Authorities told residents in Lewiston to "shelter in place" and to "stay inside your home with the doors locked."
