The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following protocol, three officers were <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/texas-middle-school-teacher-says-placed-administrative-leave-reporting-students-threat" target="_blank">placed on administrative leave</a> during the investigation.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol will investigate the shooting.
