A bipartisan group of US House of Representatives lawmakers has unveiled a $66 billion foreign aid package aimed at supporting Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, Politico reported on 16 February.

This proposed legislation follows the House of Representatives’ decision to withhold a vote on a previous $95 billion version last week.

The new package reportedly includes $47.7 billion in aid for Ukraine. If approved, the new funding would also encompass $10 billion for Israel, $5 billion for the Indo-Pacific region, and $2 billion to support operations in the US Central Command, as per Politico. The earlier Senate-approved bill comprised a $95 billion funding package, with $61 billion designated for Ukraine alone.

House Speaker Mike Johnson had previously rejected the larger aid bill, citing its failure to address the ongoing crisis at the US border. The latest version includes funding tied to domestic border security measures demanded by House conservatives.
