Ukrainian military intelligence has released footage of a precision drone strikes deep inside occupied Crimea. The attack destroyed two military transport aircraft and damaged a coastal radar. The target was a Russian airfield near Sevastopol — a key hub for logistics and surveillance along the Black Sea coast.

The attack is part of a continued effort to dismantle Russian capabilities on the occupied peninsula. These operations are taking advantage of degraded Russian air defenses following systematic Ukrainian attacks on radar and air defense infrastructure on the peninsula.

Prymary unit hits Russian aircraft and radar in occupied Crimea

Ukraine’s HUR military intelligence agency shared footage of the operation and stated on 24 September that its Prymary special unit conducted a drone strike on Russian targets in occupied Crimea, destroying two An-26 military transport aircraft and hitting radar systems

The An-26 is a multi-role transport aircraft used to carry cargo, personnel, and wounded troops. It is designed to operate from different types of airfields.

The HUR also reported that the Prymary unit also struck a mobile surface surveillance radar and the MR-10M1 Mys M1 coastal radar system during the raid.

Drones strike fuelled aircraft and coastal radar systems

Militarnyi noted that the destroyed aircraft erupted in large fireballs, suggesting they were fueled and in active use by Russian forces. According to the outlet, Prymary uses strike drones equipped with satellite communication systems, enabling highly accurate and selective targeting of important Russian military assets.

Satellite imagery analyst Tom Bike confirmed that the strike took place at the Kacha airbase in Sevastopol.

Previous Prymary strike in occupied Crimea

In a recent operation, the Prymary unit destroyed two Russian Be-12 amphibious aircraft and one Mi-8AMTSh-VN helicopter in occupied Crimea.
