Ukraine is developing a new armored personnel carrier that will save lives even under Russian FPV drone swarms. It will protect soldiers in the hottest spots on the front lines, says Oleksandr Dubyna, director of Military Armored Company HUB, UkrInform reports. 

Innovations for survival on the battlefield

With support from Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR), a new armored personnel carrier will offer maximum protection for personnel. The project has been in development for over a year and is now in its final stages.

“Despite innovations and the widespread use of unmanned and robotic systems, people still need protection, for example, from FPV drone raids,” Dubyna reveals.

Ukraine uses anti-drone nets, physical countermeasures, electronic warfare, and specialized mobile teams for drone defense to protect its equipment from Russia’s unjammable drones. These measures are being combined comprehensively, as there is still no complete protection against FPVs.

The company will present its new development—the first APC serial unit of this class in Ukraine—in the coming weeks. 

Combining humans and technology

Dubyna emphasizes that effective military operations are impossible without people. At the same time, implementing innovations reduces personnel’s time and exposure in combat zones, decreasing threats to soldiers.

Now, the company produces unmanned systems, naval drones, and electronic warfare equipment integrated with AI to move soldiers away from combat zones. 

Ukraine approaches self-sufficiency in defense production

Dubyna is confident that long-term contracts, funding, and support from Western partners will allow Ukraine to independently meet most of its arms and military equipment needs. This will strengthen national defense and reduce dependence on imports.
